Here's how to sign-up for regular e-mail updates about the daily activities of BRONX ACTION for JUSTICE & PEACE

Bronx Action for Justice and Peace has a very active e-mail list at yahoogroups.  This email list is the nerve center (if not the 'brain trust') of BAJP.  Regular postings include committee-related work updates, newsflashes from around the world, calls to action, and other related tidbits.  Every active BAJP member is on the yahoogroups list.  Want to join?

It is free and easy!  Here's how:

The EASY way:

In time, you'll receive an e-mail reply from yahoogroups asking you to confirm your request. Just hit "Reply;" then hit "Send."  That's it: you're subscribed!

Quitting the List, also known as un-subscribing, is equally simple. Just send a blank message to 
bronxpeace-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

The SLIGHTLY MORE COMPLICATED way:

If you want to use all of yahoogroups' advanced features like searching the archives for previously posted messages, uploading files and photographs, conducting polls, maintaining calendars and the like, you need to secure a Yahoo ID. To do so, go to: 

 http://groups.yahoo.com/ 

Near the top left of the page you will see "New Users: Click here to register" follow this link.

A new page will appear with a form that you need to fill out.  It asks you to choose a "Yahoo! ID" and "Password" (which you simply make-up) and then it asks you basic questions like what email you want to use and what your name, zip code, and field of work are.  NOTE: You can make up answers to any and all of these questions except for your email address.  Actually we encourage you to be creative--it gives Poindexter and his crew at DARPA more of a challenge.  Also, if you don't want more spam in your email, make sure to 'unclick' the box marked 'send me special offers.' 

Once you have filled out the form, a new screen will pop up that says "Registration Completed - Welcome to Yahoo!"  It also tells you your Yahoo ID and the email you selected (they call it 'Your Alternate Email').  Toward the middle of the page, you'll see a link that says, "Continue to Yahoo!"  Click it.

At this point another new page pops up.  Again, towards the middle of this page, is a search box under the title "Join a Group."  Enter bronxpeace (ALL ONE WORD) in the empty search box, and then click the search key.

Another page pops up.  It says BronxPeace "A voice for peace for the people of the Bronx, in response to the tragedy of 9/11 and related tensions." Click BronxPeace.

One more page arises.  On it is a button entitled, "Join This Group."  Once you click it, you're in!

Well, of course, they'll ask you to verify your e-mail address...and then another page will pop up and ask you for your password (remember the one you made up before?) and then...you'll enter in the password box...and then, once you do that, another page tells you about final activation of your account...and then--are you still reading

You know, this is all rather a pain, isn't it?  

Oh the fact is, it's not that hard!  

Just follow the directions they give you and then we'll flood your e-mail with activism updates and you'll be a real peacenik saving the world like the rest of us!
