DAY OF PEACE Fordham University |
||
|
Thursday, February 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. / McGinley Center In solidarity with other Jesuit Colleges and Universities across the country, Fordham University has designated Thursday, February 13, 2003 as a Day of Peace. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., students, faculty, and staff will gather to reflect on the implications of a war with Iraq through prayer, reflection, and fasting. We will conclude our Day of Peace by gathering in front of McGinley Center for a PEACE VIGIL from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. At this vigil, representatives from campus and local peace groups will present their visions for creating peace. All are invited to attend. If you are a visitor to the University, simply inform security of your intention to attend the peace and ask to be directed to the McGinley Student Center.
-------------------- During the day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be a platform outside
the McGinley student center with students fasting for peace, and asking others to join
them. Each group will present their visions for creating peace and invite the larger Fordham community to join them in making a more peaceful world. |
