Peaceful Tomorrows (family members of September 11 victims seeking
alternatives to war) are celebrating their first anniversary Join host Amy Goodman (Democracy Now!) and members of Peaceful Tomorrows for a joyful evening of music from Stephan Smith, Joyce Katzberg, Kristina Olsen and Derrill Bodley, along with spoken word, video, and lots more surprise guests TBA. Free and open to the public; donations welcomed. Come early for extra special event: an exhibit of 50 powerful photographs taken of the ordinary people of Iraq by five distinguished photographers. The exhibit is organized by Education for Peace in Iraq (EPIC). Enter through the church's side door, at 241 Thompson Street, to reach The Garden Room gallery space, which opens at 6:30 p.m. Then join us upstairs at 8:00! Thanks to the staff and congregation of Judson Church for the use of this space. Judson continues to be a beacon for free spirits in the arts and politics and a leader among progressive faith communities in the city and nation for over 100 years.
